Experience the breathtaking landscapes and remarkable wildlife of southern Kenya on this 3 Days Amboseli National Park Safari Tour with Verdant Safaris. Located beneath the iconic Mount Kilimanjaro, Amboseli National Park is particularly renowned for its large elephant herds, spectacular scenery, diverse wildlife and rich Maasai cultural heritage. Kenya Wildlife Service describes Amboseli as a premier destination for close encounters with large elephant herds, while the park’s wetlands, grasslands, woodlands and seasonal marshes support a wide variety of wildlife and more than 400 bird species. You will enjoy exciting game drives, scenic viewpoints, wildlife photography and opportunities to experience the local Maasai culture. The relatively short itinerary is ideal if you want to experience one of Kenya’s most distinctive national parks while maintaining a comfortable travel schedule.
Day 1: Nairobi to Amboseli National Park and Afternoon Game Drive
Your safari begins with an early morning departure from Nairobi as you travel southwards towards Amboseli National Park. The journey takes you through changing Kenyan landscapes, including agricultural areas, small settlements and open countryside as you approach the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro. Depending on your preferred route and timing, you may pass through the Namanga area before continuing towards the park. Upon arrival, you will have lunch at your lodge or camp before preparing for your first game drive. In the afternoon, you will enter the park and explore its open plains, seasonal wetlands, acacia woodland and marsh areas in search of wildlife. Amboseli is particularly famous for its elephants, but you may also encounter lions, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, hippos, antelopes and numerous bird species. When weather conditions are clear, Mount Kilimanjaro provides an impressive backdrop for wildlife viewing and photography.
