Day 1: Nairobi to Maasai Mara, Scenic Drive and Afternoon Game Drive

Your 3 Days Maasai Mara Wildlife Safari Adventure begins with an early morning pick-up from your hotel or another agreed location in Nairobi. You will depart the city and travel towards the Maasai Mara, enjoying changing scenery as the journey takes you through the Great Rift Valley and towards the rolling landscapes of Narok County. Along the way, you may have an opportunity to stop at a scenic viewpoint for photographs before continuing towards the reserve. After arriving in the Maasai Mara, you will check into your selected lodge or tented camp and enjoy lunch before beginning your first safari experience. In the afternoon, you will head out on a game drive across the Mara plains, searching for elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, antelopes and the famous big cats. The Maasai Mara’s varied habitats support a remarkable diversity of wildlife, making even a short afternoon drive an exciting introduction to the reserve. You will return to your accommodation in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay surrounded by the sounds of the African wilderness.

Day 2: Full-Day Maasai Mara Wildlife Safari and Maasai Cultural Experience

After an early breakfast, you will set off for a full-day wildlife safari in the Maasai Mara with a packed lunch. The morning game drive gives you the opportunity to explore the open grasslands when wildlife is often active, while your experienced safari guide helps you identify animals and understand their behaviour and habitats. You will explore different areas of the reserve in search of the Big Five, including lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopards and rhinos, while also looking for cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, hippos and numerous antelope species. The Mara is particularly renowned for its large concentrations of wildlife and spectacular savannah scenery. Depending on the season and your route, you may also witness large herds of wildebeest and other plains game moving across the ecosystem. You will enjoy your picnic lunch at an appropriate designated location before continuing with your afternoon game drive. Later, you may have the opportunity to visit a Maasai community, where you can learn about traditional culture, homesteads, crafts, music and the community’s relationship with the surrounding wildlife. In the evening, you will return to your lodge or camp for dinner, relaxation and another night in the Maasai Mara.

Day 3: Morning Game Drive, Maasai Mara to Nairobi and Departure

Your final day begins with an early breakfast followed by a short morning game drive before leaving the Maasai Mara. The early hours provide another opportunity to search for wildlife across the plains and capture photographs of the beautiful landscapes in the soft morning light. You may encounter elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, antelopes and predators as you make your way through the reserve, depending on wildlife movements and the day’s conditions. After the morning safari, you will leave the Maasai Mara and begin your journey back towards Nairobi, with a lunch stop arranged along the way. The return journey gives you another opportunity to appreciate Kenya’s changing landscapes as you travel from the open savannah towards the capital. Upon arrival in Nairobi, you will be dropped off at your hotel, residence or another agreed location, marking the end of your 3 Days Maasai Mara Wildlife Safari Adventure with Verdant Safaris. If you have a later flight, the departure schedule can be arranged according to your flight time.
