Explore the remarkable wildlife and landscapes of western Uganda on this 3 Days Queen Elizabeth National Park Safari with Verdant Safaris. Queen Elizabeth National Park is one of Uganda’s best-known wildlife destinations, with diverse habitats supporting around 95 mammal species and more than 560 recorded bird species. This short safari combines scenic travel, exciting game drives and a memorable boat cruise along the famous Kazinga Channel, giving you an excellent introduction to Uganda’s wildlife within just three days. You will explore the open Kasenyi Plains in search of elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, antelopes and predators, while the Kazinga Channel provides opportunities to see hippos, crocodiles, elephants and numerous waterbirds close to the water’s edge. The safari is suitable for you if you want a compact wildlife experience without committing to a longer Uganda safari.

Day 1: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park – Evening Game Drive

Your safari begins with an early morning pick-up from Kampala or Entebbe by your professional Verdant Safaris driver-guide. You will begin the journey westwards towards Queen Elizabeth National Park, travelling through Uganda’s changing countryside and enjoying views of local communities, farmland, plantations and rolling hills. Depending on your departure point and timing, you will have a stop at the Equator for photographs and a short break before continuing towards western Uganda. You will enjoy lunch at a suitable stop along the route before proceeding towards Queen Elizabeth National Park. As you approach the park, the scenery becomes increasingly scenic, with views of crater lakes, savannah landscapes and, in favourable weather, the distant Rwenzori Mountains. On arrival, you will check into your lodge before heading out for an afternoon or evening game drive around the Kasenyi Plains. The game drive offers opportunities to search for elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, warthogs, waterbucks, antelopes and, with luck, lions and other predators. You will return to your lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight relaxation.

Your guide will drive through the Kasenyi Plains and surrounding game tracks, helping you look for elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, warthogs and other antelope species. Queen Elizabeth National Park is also home to lions and leopards, although sightings of these predators are never guaranteed. You will also have opportunities to observe the park’s birdlife, with the varied habitats supporting a large number of bird species. After the game drive, you will return to your lodge for lunch and some time to relax. In the afternoon, you will proceed to the Kazinga Channel for a boat cruise, one of the park’s signature experiences. The cruise provides excellent views of hippos and crocodiles in the water, while elephants, buffaloes and other animals can often be seen along the shoreline, together with numerous waterbirds. Depending on the location of the animals, you may see elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, warthogs, antelopes and various bird species during the drive. Your guide will choose suitable routes according to the available time and your onward travel arrangements.
