Discover the wild landscapes of north-eastern Uganda on this 5 Days Kidepo Valley National Park Safari with Verdant Safaris. Kidepo Valley National Park is renowned for its expansive savannah plains, rugged mountain scenery, diverse wildlife and distinctive semi-arid landscapes. The park offers excellent opportunities for game drives, guided nature walks, birdwatching and cultural encounters with communities around the conservation area. During this safari, you will explore the wildlife-rich Narus Valley and the broader Kidepo Valley, while also experiencing the culture and traditions of the Karamojong people. The itinerary combines game viewing, scenic drives and cultural experiences, providing an opportunity to discover one of Uganda’s most remote and spectacular safari destinations.
Day 1: Arrival in Kidepo Valley National Park and Afternoon Game Drive
Your adventure begins with your journey from Entebbe or Kampala towards the remote wilderness of Kidepo Valley National Park, either by road or, where arranged, by scheduled or charter flight to the park. Kidepo is located in north-eastern Uganda and can be reached by air from Entebbe or Kajjansi, while the road journey provides an opportunity to experience the changing landscapes of northern Uganda. On arrival, you will check into your lodge and have lunch before beginning an introductory afternoon game drive. Your guide will take you through sections of the park where you can search for elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, Uganda kobs, hartebeests, warthogs and other wildlife. The Narus Valley is particularly important for game viewing because its water sources attract wildlife, especially during drier periods. As the afternoon progresses, you will enjoy the dramatic scenery of open grasslands, rocky outcrops and distant mountain ranges before returning to your lodge for dinner and relaxation.
