Lake Mburo National Park is one of Uganda’s most accessible wildlife destinations and offers an excellent short safari experience from Kampala or Entebbe. The park is particularly known for its populations of zebra, impala, eland, topi, buffalo, waterbuck and other savannah wildlife, together with rich birdlife and the scenic Lake Mburo itself. This 2-day Lake Mburo wildlife safari with Verdant Safaris combines scenic travel, a rewarding game drive and a relaxing boat experience before your departure. It is ideal if you have limited time but still want to experience Uganda’s wildlife and beautiful countryside.

Day 1: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park, Game Drive and Boat Safari

Your 2 Days Lake Mburo Wildlife Safari begins with an early morning pick-up from your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe. You will travel south-west towards Lake Mburo National Park, passing through Uganda’s countryside, local trading centres and agricultural communities. The journey takes approximately four hours, depending on your starting point and road conditions. Along the way, you may make a stop at the Equator for photographs and a short cultural and geographical experience before continuing towards the park. After entering Lake Mburo National Park, you will enjoy lunch at your lodge before embarking on an afternoon game drive. The drive gives you an opportunity to search for zebra, impala, eland, topi, buffalo, warthog, waterbuck and other wildlife across the park’s savannah landscapes. Later in the afternoon, you will enjoy a boat safari on Lake Mburo, where you can look out for hippos, crocodiles, waterbirds and animals coming to the water’s edge. You will then return to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay surrounded by the peaceful sounds of the African wilderness.

Day 2: Morning Wildlife Experience and Departure

You will wake up early for breakfast before beginning your final wildlife experience in Lake Mburo National Park. Depending on your preference and the time available, you can choose an early morning game drive or a guided nature walk, allowing you to experience the park when wildlife is particularly active. Lake Mburo is one of Uganda’s distinctive safari destinations because it supports wildlife experiences that can include walking and horseback activities alongside conventional game drives. During your morning activity, you will have another opportunity to encounter animals such as zebra, impala, eland, topi, buffalo and waterbuck, while keen birdwatchers can look for some of the area’s diverse bird species. After the activity, you will return to the lodge for breakfast or brunch and prepare for your journey back to Kampala or Entebbe. You will then depart Lake Mburo National Park and travel through the countryside, with a possible stop for lunch along the way. If time permits, you can make another brief stop at the Equator for photographs and souvenirs. Your safari ends with drop-off at your hotel or another agreed location in Kampala or Entebbe.
